Creative Planning and Creative Problem Solving is the need of the hour

Our brain stores and processes information through a complex network of cells and transforms this information into experiences, perceptions, decisions, and actions. It has been reported that our brain is capable of making predictions and storing the errors associated with those predictions.  Errors can be failures, a different reality, or even doubts about oneself. Predictions, on the other hand, can mean a future plan, projections, expectations, or just being creative. Our blunders and mistakes cost us dearly and we start becoming less and less predictive and creative. People might become more selective and look for certainty in everything and anything, it could be education, career, jobs, skills, or any aspect of growth and improvement. A sure-shot formula to succeed is what people start chasing. Our judgemental approach in all aspects of life hampers our creative and imaginative abilities.   

In the past, our ancestors were able to use their brains much effectively and could discover the newness of everything around them. They did not bother to fix their future, which they were never sure about. Divergent thinking on different tasks led them to be more creative and innovative. The result was that of a growing intelligent brain. Now let us discuss creative thinking in planning and problem-solving. Creative thinking in communication would be a broad topic and is beyond the scope of this post and hence we will cover this part in another blog post. Creative thinking is rudimentary to any planning task, may it be personal or organizational. And it involves the implementation of the latest concepts including lateral thinking. It is therefore not surprising that diverse sectors of the industry such as design, automobiles, software, architecture, publishing, music, etc employ creative thinking in their first and foremost managerial activity. Creative thinking is found to be very useful in problem-handling and problem-solving procedures. Fresh perspectives towards a problem or a defunct system are allowed to bubble up and are garnered. Identifying opportunities then becomes easy. We have established a conventional system comprising the society, the agricultural system, the manufacturing system, other smaller subsystems, and a network system connecting and linking all the sub-systems with each other. This traditional model which can be called as Human Sustenance System, helps us live, work, earn, socialize, depend and interact with each other as smaller units. And this model/system has been working well for quite some time. But in today's situation, the perfected system doesn't seem to function. Any system that does not incorporate creative problem-solving techniques can become stagnant at some point and might even fail. In the current crisis that we are facing our system seems to have become static and inert. The pandemic has caught the human race off guard. We were busy with our schedules and routines so much that we could not foresee an outbreak of this kind. 

It is high time that we come together and bring our creative abilities to the fore. We have to formulate a creative strategy and fight against the all-pervasive-looking virus. We have the ability to act and work synergistically, and creative planning and creative problem-solving is the need of the hour.

A Tribute to my Physical Education Teacher

Hi, they say time and tide waits for no man and this has absolutely happened in my case. This post is about my Physical Education Teacher Mr.Eden whose guidance on health and fitness has always motivated me to stay healthy.  He was very committed to his profession and he believed in discipline and hard work. This is a fictitious story and the character Rina does not have any resemblance to any person living or dead. I have tried to explain the process of mind control that we all do unconsciously.
